What is TMS?

TMS is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, a non-drug treatment for depression and anxiety. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to what is used in an MRI, to rehabilitate the areas of the brain that are dysfunctional in depression and anxiety. “Waking up” these connections has been shown to have a lasting effect, making long-term remission from depression possible for many people.

TMS is not a drug, “shock therapy", or surgery. It is a safe, effective treatment for depression and anxiety without the side effects of medication.

Is TMS right for me?

TMS may be right for you if you agree with two or more:

  • Depression symptoms have interfered with my daily life.

  • I am not satisfied with the results I get from depression medication.

  • I have had or worry about side effects from depression medications.

  • I am interested in a safe, non-drug therapy for depression.

While depression medications work for many people, some people still do not feel relief. For hard to treat depression where medication is not giving you adequate relief,  TMS is an FDA approved, safe depression treatment option.
